Fall Festival 2013

October 16th, 2013

Each year, as the leaves turn bright colors, Building Blocks celebrates the season with a Fall Festival.  There are many activities to entertain the children and parents are invited to join in the fun.  The children flex their muscles as they pick pumpkins and hone their “detective skills” as they participate in nature scavenger hunts.  Special guests arrive to teach the children about various animals.

The air was filled with music and song lead by our music teacher, Susan Harris.  The children especially enjoyed playing the wind chimes, the amindinda and the alligator drum.  Nearby, the Building Blocks Parents’ Group tended to the animals who set up temporary lodging at the Building Blocks Farm.  The children gathered around the animal pens to explore the ducks, chickens and bunnies.  The donkey stood obediently by with its trainers as the children climbed aboard for a trot around the track.  Old MacDonald sure would be proud!  It was a glorious day and a grand time was had by all.
